I’ll share the exact retirement plan I'd use if I were 55 and wanted to stop working at 60, walk you through the 5 decisions that plan is built on, and show you why getting these five right matters more than any amount of extra saving between now and then.

I observed that retiring by 60 comes down to a handful of very specific choices you make in your late 50s.

And the folks who missed the date usually didn’t fail to save. They failed to decide, and the defaults decided for them.

And this is exactly why I’m writing this: to lay out the 5 decisions in order, tell you what the right call looks like for each, and show you what happens when each one gets left on autopilot.

Decision #1: Enough

The first decision at 55 isn’t how much more you can save. It’s figuring out what enough actually means for you.

And this is where I think seeking out real guidance and intentionally planning for retirement becomes so important.
